“Interessante Lage wenn man nur zu den Dünen will.”
A clean, tidy place with Japanese-style beds and very friendly, helpful hosts, but a group of men stayed out past midnight, ignoring the 10 pm curfew.

The ryokan is a picturesque, traditional Japanese inn you only find in Japan, and it fully immerses you in Tottori’s dune atmosphere because it sits right in the middle of them. Its location adds to its charm, but it’s not convenient at all—without a car it’s a bit hard to get to, and at night even finding food nearby becomes very difficult; the first convenience store is more than a 20‑minute walk. Additionally, all the walls need renovation, the thermal insulation is terrible (even with the heater on full blast you feel cold at night), and the soundproofing is no better—every noise in the common areas is audible, which can be very loud at night.
