Breakfast was excellent, but the windows are poorly prepared for the headwind and at night they make a lot of noise that disturbs sleep.

“Overpromises, underdelivers”

The entrance and common areas were beautiful, the spot was great and the view was lovely, and the A/C in the room worked well. However, the communication was poor and the service felt very limited for a premium‑priced place. There was no luggage help and only one beach towel for two guests. Several lights were broken and there were obvious maintenance problems. The room had no drinking water, no basic welcome pack, no shower soap, and housekeeping only came if requested by noon; towels were only changed after three days. The shower window faced the balcony without proper screening, so privacy was terrible. Wi‑Fi was slow, unstable and unreliable. Breakfast was far below what one would expect for this price. The tours the hotel offered were much more expensive than local alternatives. Santa Maria looks attractive, but the gap between its premium pricing and the actual experience is huge. The location and common areas set high expectations, but the service, amenities, maintenance, breakfast and attention to detail feel more like a simple pousada. At a lower price I might have seen it differently, but at this level the overall experience didn’t justify the premium.

The location and scenery were great, but the room’s facilities don’t block the local wind, making it impossible to sleep peacefully.
