Good location and very good value for money – you get what you pay for, and the metro is super fast; unfortunately I once saw a cockroach in the morning, which was disgusting, and the rooms are very noisy; if someone is in the hallway or bathroom you can hear them right into the room.

We stayed at A Better Place By Lisbon II (R. Francisco Sanches, 69) and the Google Maps pin was accurate, though arriving late at night required a quick 10–20 seconds of scanning the street numbers to find the exact entrance; the place is solidly located in a normal neighbourhood, its real advantage being the proximity to the Arroios metro station which makes commuting across Lisbon hassle‑free; the shared facilities are exceptionally well maintained – the kitchen is fully equipped for self‑cooking, the dining patio is pleasant, and the bathrooms are clean and well stocked, any minor mess is due to other guests; the housekeeping lady who keeps the property tidy only speaks Portuguese but we communicated easily via Google Translate and she was warm and helpful; the private room came fully equipped with AC, mini‑fridge, wardrobe, comfortable bed, and TV; the room itself needed a bit more attention in the tucked‑away spots, especially corners behind the bed; the size of the room is tiny in practice even though the dimensions were listed online, it carries about a 10 % premium over what it actually offers, and comparing it with other options in Lisbon for the same dates shows noticeably better space and value elsewhere; the host was friendly and communicative over chat during booking, but…

Proximité de la station de Métro Arroios. En 5 stations vous êtes en centre ville et à la gare Rossio et en 7 arrêts à la gare Oriente. La chambre ouvre sur un patio. L'escalier est raide avec 1 valise. Heureusement 1er étage. Plusieurs chambres dans un grand appartement. Certains colocataires sont bruyants
