Macdonald Portal Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort

This hotel is excellent with brilliant facilities. The staff were very helpful and made my wife and me feel welcomed, especially Lorna at the reception desk. The golf course is well maintained and reasonably priced for a round.

“This was my Birthday treat & its literally just over an hours drive”

I booked mainly for the spa, room, location, and price, and the treatments were great, which is why staying the night works well. The hotel is generally good but a bit dated and tired; rooms are efficient but not boutique. The pool could use an upgrade.
