I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction with our recent experience at your property. What should have been a pleasant stay became an extremely distressing experience that left us feeling unwelcome, humiliated and concerned for our safety. Our car broke down, delaying our arrival by approximately one hour beyond the check-in time. We called repeatedly to explain the situation and seek assistance, but several calls went unanswered. When someone finally answered, we were refused check-in. Despite our understanding that the hosts lived very close to the property, they declined to come and let us in. We were nevertheless charged for the entire night, although we were denied access to our accommodation. The manner in which we were spoken to was particularly upsetting. Both the refusal and the openly rude behaviour, especially from the male host, left us feeling intimidated at an already difficult moment. Our stay over the following two days did little to improve the experience: The accommodation felt extremely cramped, with exceptionally small bathrooms. We were not allowed to bring in outside food, including basic items such as curd and bread. The common kitchen was accessible only until 10:30 p.m. When we returned at approximately 11:00 p.m., we could no longer access it. Glasses were removed from our room and never replaced, leaving us without basic drinking glasses when the kitchen was also inaccessible. Taken together, these restrictions, inadequate amenities and hostile interactions made our stay deeply uncomfortable. Basic courtesy, respectful communication and reasonable assistance are fundamental expectations of any accommodation provider. Even when i had to take an emergency call from back home at the breakfast joint, the hosted yelled and asked me to get out, as someone who travels extensively around the world, I found this encounter deeply disturbing, we experienced the treatment as racially discriminatory and felt genuinely unsafe

Comfortable stay with good breakfast and a kind housekeeper, though a bit dark but overall fine.

“Great view, but excessive rules.”

The location and view are great, the room is clean, breakfast is good, and parking is easy, but the stay was let down by a long list of strict rules and restrictions. The female host was friendly, yet the male host was noticeably cold and unhelpful, making hosting feel like a big burden for him.

“Experiencia agridulce”

The hotel’s central location is convenient for transport and city facilities, but for travelers with wheelchairs or limited mobility, the steep hill to the hotel and the steep stairs to the rooms—without assistance—make it difficult. The room view and small windows are beautiful, and the price is reasonable compared to Grindelwald market rates, but the customer service feels like I paid too much for what I received. The host’s attitude was poor, especially the man who seemed angry with us, getting upset over simple requests like a bill or an earlier breakfast on the day of departure. We felt very uncomfortable with the service. We had long travel days and were tired; the first two nights I let my younger nephew sleep longer to recover, but we still had to eat breakfast 30–40 minutes before the designated time, and the lady made comments implying we were the last to eat, which was again uncomfortable. Food is not allowed, including prepared meals, and apparently some people cook in the rooms, so they prohibit bringing food, which is a problem if traveling with children who prefer having snacks like fruit or sandwiches. We had to eat out all the time, which was exhausting. The hotel is not suitable for traveling with young children.
