Breakfast wasn’t included, but the location was excellent and easy to walk to, close to tram lines. The place is a basement apartment, so you have to climb down a winding staircase to get there. The walls were very cold, making the whole room chilly, and cooking on the stove was not allowed because of City of Amsterdam rules and regulations.

The booking process was easy and efficient, and the location was great. The only downside was the lack of a cutlery plug for the sink and an ironing board.

“Great location but small improvements would make the property better”

The canal‑side location was pretty and central. However, the building felt old and not very clean when we entered; the stone on the kitchen bench was stained, the towels looked old and off‑white, and there wasn’t enough cutlery or crockery. A toaster would have been useful. There was no plug for the sink to wash dishes, even though there was no dishwasher, and the TV didn’t work—no signal—and the owner was away until the night before we left to fix it. The staircase was very tight and narrow, which is important to know if you have large suitcases.

“Great apartment, clean and central to everything. Value for money.”

The building sits in a great area, friendly, and very easy to reach great shops, restaurants, bars, and the city centre, offering great value for money. The bed wasn’t very comfortable, and because the apartment is below the entrance we were woken several times by people walking in. The apartment above was also audible, especially with high‑heeled footsteps. The cleaner’s cupboard is directly outside the bedroom, which was noisy when the cleaner accessed it.
