Arraya, Sare, sits on the historic village square, 16 km from Saint‑Jean‑de‑Luz beaches. Its 3 16th‑century houses house individually decorated rooms with satellite TV, private baths, garden or square views, and free Wi‑Fi. The on‑site restaurant serves regional cuisine with an extensive wine list. Guests unwind on a terrace overlooking the square or in a flower‑filled garden.

The owner’s friendliness. The house is historic and renovated.

I’ve stayed there several times and it’s always very friendly. The downside is that the restaurant’s food selection and quality have slipped lately.
