“Incredible Location, but Serious Safety and Maintenance Issues”

It’s a good budget vacation rental, literally right in front of the beach with impressive views, and the room is huge with a giant jacuzzi‑style bath that faces the ocean. However, the place is extremely run down; many tiles in our room were broken and just taped back to the floor, so I almost cut my foot walking around it—dangerous to leave it like that. The bathroom was full of black mold, the kitchen windows were broken, and the bathroom windows had broken screens.

The view is better from the higher floor, the owner was responsive, and there’s a hydro‑massage tub on a glass balcony; the area is nice with good restaurants and less crowded than central Sokcho. Some of the hydro‑massage jets were clogged and didn’t give a satisfying effect, and the balcony windows could use a wash every now and then—dirty windows are the norm in Korea and most places are like that.
