“Tsukitei was a little bit of paradise south of Mt. Aso, nestled in a charming forest far enough away from the main road.”
The property is a beautiful lodge‑style building in a lovely spot overlooking Mt. Aso. The rooms and common areas are comfortable, and there are plenty of small nooks and corners for extra privacy. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The road to the property is a tight squeeze through beautiful woods, and the signs were very helpful. On the second night, a party of guests was loud and disruptive until after midnight, leaving a mess in the kitchen and dining area downstairs. Many shared appliances and utensils were misplaced or dirty. This isn’t the owner’s fault, so it doesn’t lower my score, but I suggest clear rules and expectations in multiple languages to prevent misunderstandings about guest behaviour at Tsukitei.
