Ararat Hotel

The staff were helpful and the location was fantastic. The continental breakfast was poor and not fresh; we only ate it on the first day. The upper terrace was unavailable for breakfast, and the lower one was closed, apparently because of unclear weather.

The hotel captured the true color of Istanbul, with the tastiest sweets right by the bazaar, everyone being served tea! The historic skyline is right outside the window, a luxurious view. The staff were very attentive and friendly, immediately offering Turkish coffee and letting me settle in early. Highly recommend!

“Very well-located hotel!”

1 - There were courtesy bottles of water in the room as I came in! 2 - Nurja, the lady at the rooftop restaurant was very kind to me. We could barely communicate but she prepared very good traditional turkish breakfast every day for me! 3 - Location was VERY convenient. “DO NOT STAY HERE Read this review its a horrible hotel”

The location would have been great for seeing the Blue Mosque if I had received the room I paid for, but I never did, and I only saw trash behind the hotel. I won’t start with a positive note. DO NOT STAY HERE. I never got the room I paid for because the circuit breakers kept tripping and a socket caught fire. The manager knew about the issue in this and the adjoining room, as mentioned in earlier reviews. An adapter blew out and was promised replacement, but it never happened. I was moved to a room at the back of the hotel where the shower ceiling was falling, the toilet flusher buttons didn’t work, the sink faucet was loose and unstable, and the shower connections sprayed water everywhere but on me. The room overlooked a balcony full of mop buckets and a lower roof piled high with garbage and assorted trash—no view of the Mosque, despite paying extra for a room with a Blue Mosque view and AC. I never received an AC remote, even though I asked repeatedly and was told it was there. The room was unbearably hot. On a recorded call, I was told the hotel would refund the last night because I left before checkout, but after four months no refund has been issued and there has been no response. Do not use this hotel. Do not trust the so‑called nice reviews. The new management cares only about money. Also avoid their airport pick‑up service; I had to take a taxi. The manager claimed I was picked up in his car, but I was in a taxi, and he was quiet after that.
