“Nothing like the description - DO NOT PAY FOR A "DELUXE " ROOM !”
The spot is decent, but the room description was wildly off—no slippers, laptop safe, iron, safety deposit box, working telephone, mini‑bar, bath robe, or daily housekeeping, all of which were promised. The room stayed untouched for days; no bed‑sheet or pillow‑case change for two weeks. Don’t pay extra €120 for a “deluxe” room; all rooms look the same, run‑down, and dated. After three days I had to move to get any real storage space. Doors, windows, and shutters bind and don’t open or close smoothly. The balcony light is broken, so you can’t sit out at night. Both the room and bathroom need a deep clean. The family that runs the hotel—mostly Poppy, the wife—has to do everything. The downstairs reception, indoor breakfast area, and bar become the day‑to‑day living space for the grandmother, husband, wife, 3‑year‑old daughter, and a constant stream of friends. Eating, smoking, phones, and eating all happen there. If you’re a light sleeper, the family noise, including the 3‑year‑old, can go past midnight.
