I liked the lake view, but the approach road was muddy and you have to walk half a kilometre. The hospitality could have been better.

The terrace at the foot of the water with the super comfortable loungers is the best thing about the place, nothing else. The facilities are quite old, the bed is a bit uncomfortable, and the bathroom door is tiny so I hit my head several times.

“Gorgeous view, needs major improvements.”

The terrace outside the upper‑floor rooms is stunning, with a gorgeous, peaceful view. The old teak house lacks glass in the windows, making it very dark inside when the AC is on. You have to pay an extra 500 rupees per day for AC, which wasn’t mentioned when booking. Not being able to get tea, coffee, or water made the stay feel more like a chore than an enjoyment. After a 5‑hour train journey, we were told that to get a cold drink we had to walk down the path in the heat to a small stall. A fridge stocked with drinks would have been a simple improvement. If you’re worried about dodgy wiring, dirty bathrooms, no hot water, and stained bedding, stay next door for the same view but without the teak balcony. I’d like to be more positive about this beautiful property, but unless major improvements are made, I won’t return.

“Character filled house on the river”

A fantastic character‑filled wooden house on the river with friendly, helpful hosts. The courtyard by the river is a great spot to meet other guests for chats and shared boat rides. I just wish I had stayed longer!
