Gobi - Zen

Gobi-Zen is in a very convenient location for exploring Ulaanbaatar on foot. I could walk to the railway station in about 15–20 minutes, and the city centre was also within walking distance. There’s a park and shopping centres nearby, while the theatre is roughly a 20-minute walk away. I enjoy walking, so I hardly used any transport during my stay. The hostel was a great starting point for my daily walks around the city. Breakfast was not included, and this was clearly stated when I booked. Tea was always available, and guests could make their own tea or coffee and prepare food. As I mentioned, it would be convenient if guests could enter with a key card, if that’s possible. But this is only a small suggestion: I had an excellent stay as things are. The staff deserve 100 out of 100!

“The warm welcome and kindness of the staff made my stay truly special.”

I had a wonderful stay at Gobi-Zen! The staff are genuinely friendly and care about their guests’ experience not only at the hostel, but also in the city and the country as a whole. Of course, you could find shortcomings if you judged a hostel by five-star hotel standards. But for the price, Gobi-Zen exceeded my expectations. It is quiet at night, so you can get a good night’s sleep and wake up ready for new adventures. The staff also make it easy to meet fellow guests. We enjoyed talking with travellers from France, the UK and the US. I wholeheartedly recommend Gobi-Zen. I wish its founders and the whole team every success!. One small improvement would be to give guests key cards for the hostel entrance, so they can come and go more easily

“ウランバートル駅の近く”

I stayed at a guesthouse close to Ulan Bator station, which made my travel day easier. I left my luggage early in the morning and a boy kindly showed me how to use the system. It’s on the second floor and you just ring the bell and the door opens; I never received a key, so I assumed the staff were always on site. Nothing was particularly inconvenient. However, hot water never came out, and when it did, the temperature between hot and cold was barely noticeable. It would be handy if there were outlets near the pillow or bed.

“Good,clean, comfortable and centrally located Hostel”

The hostel was clean, comfortable, and safe, and it’s within walking distance to the sights. Host Uka was very friendly and helpful, offering great tips and advice. Nothing else to add.
