The luxury, beauty and cleanliness of this hotel match a 5‑star property; the private onsen, helpful staff and central location near the hells of Beppu and the main bus station make it a must‑stay, and I’d definitely come back.

The hot springs were fantastic and the baths were impeccably clean; I could use every bath, the breakfast was tasty with local ingredients, free drinks and ice in the hallway felt like a good deal, the traditional inn style was enjoyable, and the price was reasonable. If it were barrier‑free, it could be recommended to older guests.

The food is outstanding, with amazing presentation and super fresh ingredients; the in‑house onsen is wonderful and the staff are very helpful, but for Westerners the mattress is very thin and the traditional pillow isn’t what we’re used to, so be careful when booking a traditional room.
