The location is outstanding, right next to the basilica. The rooms are very pretty and spotless, with excellent beds and a generous breakfast. The staff and owner are very friendly, and the kitchen is superb. We felt very comfortable.

A gorgeous family hotel with a long tradition, just a few steps from the pilgrimage church and offering a stunning view of the Danube. The rooms are tastefully and stylishly furnished, impeccably clean everywhere, and the whole hotel exudes a warm family atmosphere. Even though we only slept one night, it was a wonderful experience, complete with a rich breakfast, thanks 😊

The room was very spacious and beautiful, everything was clean, and the décor was tasteful. The breakfast was abundant and very good. The hosts were super friendly and charming, giving us plenty of information about the area. We’ll come back. Everything was perfect!

“Erstklassige Adresse für einen unvergesslichen Aufenthalt an der Donau”

The host turned an old village inn into something remarkable! My room (Nr. 1) was 22 m² and spacious. The tasteful furnishings, high‑quality box‑spring beds, warm hardwood floor, carefully chosen accessories, and a fantastic bathroom with a large, level, granite‑tiled shower from the region stood out. The bronze fixtures were stylishly integrated. If the “Goldenen Löwen” were a hotel, the room would deserve at least four stars without compromise. The built‑in air conditioning made hot days comfortable. The overall impression was very positive, thanks to the host’s friendliness and clear desire to make the stay pleasant. Breakfast is served in the well‑decorated guest lounge, accessible from the room area by a staircase. It’s served at the table and includes more than enough of everything a guest could want. Maria Taferl sits above the Danube. After a long day of activities in Nibelungengau or the Wachau, guests gladly return to the quiet of this small pilgrimage site with a fantastic basilica and enjoy the fact that from about 19 h there’s no street traffic in the village.
