It’s good. A butterfly entered the room when the balcony was opened; pest control in the surrounding area needs to be addressed.

The spot was charming and right next to Deolo Park, and everyone on the staff was super friendly. The bed, however, was uncomfortable and we ran into bed bugs on day one of our stay.

The staff were nice and kind, though they seemed a bit undertrained. The place is far from town, and the rooms were full of mold and not hygienic. The property itself was poorly maintained and not cleaned properly. The toilet water heater didn’t work and took hours to fix. Pine trees surrounded the property, so leeches were everywhere and even fell from the trees onto the balcony. The photos on the website didn’t match what we found.

“This hotel is itself a major viewpoint”

The location was amazing, and from the balcony you could see the valley, the mountains, the Teesta River, and clouds—an endless view that made us want to stay there forever. The staff were very helpful and went the extra mile. Overall, it was a fantastic four‑day experience. The only downside was that the restaurant’s food prices were too high, so we had to plan breakfast and dinner outside. A nearby hotel offered breakfast and dinner at reasonable rates.

“Home away from home”

If you’re looking to escape the busy, closed streets of mountain towns like Kalimpong, a 15‑minute drive up from the town center brings you to this slice of paradise. Five minutes away is a park for a brisk walk, and a 15‑ to 20‑minute walk gets you to a shared taxi to town. The room offered a stunning mountain view and a balcony to soak it all in. Breakfast was great for starting the day, and we felt we got good value for our money—simple, splendid, serene. The team made the stay special and relaxed, especially Debashish and Smita at reception who accommodated our needs, Trisa and Abhishek who fed us with care and kindness, and Anjali, Gitanjali, and Elisa who kept the rooms immaculate.
