“Great location”
Lovely hotel I have stayed in a few times. The river in the grounds are superb and in a beautiful area. It near a great bar where you can get a lovely meal in the evening. Walking to grassmere and ambelside are both gorgeous easy walks. It's not that I didn't like it just needs a little more care and attention outside. It was different from last time. The grass was long and the furniture needs a good clean. The only other thing and it's personal choice when it comes to breakfast so this is just mine. The full English was great but you get asked what you want when you check in so have to decide the day before. we opted for full English and as I didn't get to see him to change the order for the next day, I got the same again, this is ok but I didn't eat a couple things and felt so guilty as a comment was made about it. It really was quality stuff so I can imagine I would not want to waste food either.it would be better to be asked over your coffee what you want. Previously I loved going down for breakfast as there was an amazing precut fruit salad which I loved and pancakes on offer. As I said it's ok but as a woman that likes a continental breakfast or lighter options, I was stuffed on just a full English. It's heaven for a man though Apart from that it is still a fantastic hotel choice if you want perfect location and peace. And Ian is lovely, very chatty and approachable
