“Mierīga atpūta divatā pie simtgadīga ozola”
First, the host was very hospitable and tried to help with everything, even offering extra blankets, pillows, and other items so we felt comfortable and appreciated. She even gave us mint tea and the chance to buy freshly removed spring honey. We could also watch how honey is taken out with a story about the bee family’s life. The apartment was clean, fresh, and the interior was designed with a vintage touch. If anything is missing from the furnishings, just ask the host. The hosts live right next to the family house but try to be unobtrusive and provide a sense of quiet and solitude for the guests. The apartment is part of a courtyard that used to be a wall. Near the apartments, where guests can enjoy quiet meals at the table and chairs, there is a centuries‑old oak. It feels like the host loves her courtyard, house, and apartments because it is family property. We also requested that the old well be restored, which was clean and smelled nice. The Daugava is nearby, and a wonderful forest trail full of blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, and mushrooms is close by. We stayed two nights and a whole day there, never leaving the place… we definitely recommend it to others and will return ourselves.
