Estancia La Angostura

We were looking for a place that felt like it was off the map, and this spot delivered. The scenery was gorgeous, and the staff greeted us just as we hoped. We even had the convenience of filling up the tank on site. The only hiccup was the Wi‑Fi—Starnik’s connection was spotty, and there were headaches when trying to pay with a card.

The lodge is truly isolated, like it’s on the edge of the world, which is what makes Estancia Angostura special. The rooms, however, are cramped; you can barely open two suitcases at the same time.

“lovely big property in a remote location”

The property is a nice, spacious estate tucked away in a remote spot. Even though the rooms were a bit old, they were comfortable enough. We joined the dinner for a lamb asado that was delicious, but we learned to double‑check the wine prices—one bottle turned out pricier than we expected. Breakfast was simple but adequate. It’s pricey, but given its isolation and the lack of alternatives nearby, it’s understandable.

“Very nice stop along the way about half way between chile chic and el Chalten”

The location is stunning and one-of-a-kind, but the dinner felt overpriced.
