We stayed two days at the hotel, a nice and very basic place; the proximity to the sea is worth it, the owners—Anders—are charming and very helpful, and the guide also offers well‑run, professional tours that are recommended; the room had no furniture at all, which is less convenient.

“a fantastic location and great company for guided tours of Tortuguero.”

The beach location is fantastic and there’s a supermarket nearby. Owner Andres, his assistant Julio, and guide Jorge were all very friendly and helpful. We saw sea turtles at night, took a lagoon boat trip, and toured Tortuguero National Park daily. When heavy rain flooded the village for a few days, Andres lent us Wellington boots. The shared kitchen area could use a little renovation, but it didn’t affect our enjoyment.

“I don’t recommend”

Nice location right in front of the ocean. The photos of the location don’t match the actual facility at all! The bathroom is very small and old. The shared kitchen absorbs moisture like crazy.

Beautiful beach location with hammocks and outdoor tables. A relaxed vibe. You can walk straight from the garden to the beach. Swimming isn’t really possible because of the strong current, but it’s fun to play in the waves. The room is very basic. An extra cupboard or something to store our stuff would have been nice. The kitchen is basic, but it’s good to have access to it.

Andres is fantastic. The best part of all is the staff and the tours.
