The setting was beautiful, and the old‑fashioned cabin felt historic and vintage, which the kids adored. It was very kid friendly, though the stairs were a bit risky.

I stayed in a centrally located place that let me park right by the door and only required one step to enter. The bed was a reasonable height, the toilet wasn’t too short, and the shower was pleasant. Towels were good, and the kitchen exceeded my expectations with plenty of cupboards, pots, pans, and utensils. Outside the door were pretty flowers and a fire‑pit gathering area between the buildings, and I appreciated the folding luggage holder. However, the address I received listed both 155 West Main Street and 155 East Main; the West Main address was a private house, while the East Main address lacked the business name I expected. The business door was wide open but empty, so I called out “Hello!?” about six times, moving toward the back of the clothing store. Finally someone answered, knew what I was talking about, directed me to the room, and met us there. Marley had everything ready by the time I arrived (pilot light, A/C, receipt, other lights, etc.) and explained it all. The only seating were two tall stools, the beds, and the toilet. As a disabled guest, I couldn’t sit on the stools; eating supper on the bed seemed messy, and the ice‑chest we brought was uncomfortable. A normal folding chair tucked into the closet with a luggage rack would have been a huge help. The lighting felt too dim; even with several fixtures in the bathroom I couldn’t reliably apply makeup. There are plenty of windows, so it’s probably bright during the day, but it was cloudy while we were there. My daughter liked the lower light before bed but not the next morning. She, who does a lot of janitorial work, kept finding spots that hadn’t been scrubbed as well as she’d taught herself to do. She would have left a note, but I wouldn’t let her. I sensed the room is often used as a short‑term one‑bedroom apartment, so housekeeping doesn’t clean it as often as a regular hotel room. We knew a weather change was coming—lots of wind—and the power went out in the middle of the night for a couple of hours. There were no emergency lights, but we were using battery‑operated candles, so we weren’t completely dark.

There was plenty of space, but the TV wouldn’t work because of low batteries, the toilet kept running, the kitchen sink drained slowly, and the sink was broken. It’s a nice property overall.

The location was right on main street, but bugs were crawling on the walls and floor, the beds were very uncomfortable, and the only way to get outside was through a bedroom.
