The location was good, but the place felt a bit dated. I thought the bathroom could use an update. Getting into the property felt awkward; the steps seemed too tall and the door was hard to open, especially with my large backpack. The staff were kind enough to help, which I appreciated. The stairs are not easy to fix, I know.

The only thing that mattered was the location, and even that was just a street lined with adult massage parlors, so it was only average for a family. The room had nothing to do with the photos advertised. Cleanliness was unacceptable: sheets had coffee stains and other marks left by previous guests, rust was everywhere, and the balcony was turned into a giant ashtray. In short, it was far from what was shown on the booking site. Normally a hotel asks for payment on arrival, but nothing was requested. I realize I should have checked whether my stay was already paid, but on the morning of checkout the front desk suddenly asked me to pay, even though I had a flight in three hours. In Ho Chi Minh City, three hours can pass quickly when you have to cross the city to reach the airport. I checked the booking site and saw the stay was indeed unpaid. No problem: I pulled out my credit card to settle the $145. Then the lady refused and demanded $145 in cash only! It felt surreal. We were in Ho Chi Minh City, not lost in a jungle. Obviously, I didn’t want to carry $145 in cash. I had to find an ATM. After trying four different machines, several of which didn’t work properly, and losing nearly an hour and a half, I had to run with my daughter to avoid missing our flight. Also, there was no restaurant, only a kitchen that was advertised. I expected at least some cooking facilities, but there was practically nothing, contrary to the announcement. In short, never again. I also advise the booking site to better control the photos shown by some hotels and, why not, require them to be refreshed regularly. On several of my trips I have noticed the same problem: very attractive photos, probably taken several years ago, while in reality…

The spot was great, but there was a kettle and no cups, and the balcony was tiny and unfurnished.

I had a terrible experience at this hotel, which was supposedly a 4-star establishment. I only stayed for one night, and I had initially planned to stay longer, but the condition of the room was unbearable. The air conditioning was broken, the room was tiny and smelled bad, the bed was extremely uncomfortable, and the shower was falling apart. If I had checked in earlier, I would have left immediately.
