“Cute little country escape”

The place was clean, tidy and the hosts were super friendly. I loved the countryside vibe and everything was well equipped. The only suggestion is to consider installing a heat pump for heating, as the small fan heater isn’t very efficient, though it did keep the room warm.

The Fletchers’ property, facilities and services gave my wife and me an excellent overnight stay. Though it was just a single night, I can see ourselves returning. We stayed in a separate guest area at one end of the main building attached to the garage, with a single large bedroom that doubled as a living room and a bathroom/toilet. Between them was a compact “stock room” with shelves of kitchen gear, plates, utensils, and enough space to prep simple breakfasts or keep a takeaway from Lincoln Town (2‑3 km away) warm; farther away and the food would cool. The stock room also held bathroom supplies, and a torch was handy for moving between bedroom and bathroom at night instead of turning on the lights. The place was warm and comfortable. The rear entrance opened onto a huge garden, and a covered veranda ran the length of the house with the entrance at the far end, providing covered seating to enjoy breakfast or a cold white drink while overlooking the lawn. At the far end of the lawn, behind trees, cattle grazed. The property is about 2 km from the Lincoln‑Prebbleton Road via Days Road and a short hard‑seal road over open land between paddocks. Nothing comes to mind as a downside. Lincoln Township nearby offers a supermarket, hotel/pub, and a range of takeaway and dine‑in restaurants/cafés, so you’ll likely need to plan or purchase ahead for dining or breakfast before arrival.
