Hotel 1550 - SFO Airport

“Bueno”

I was impressed by how spotless the place was and the breakfast was solid, and the hotel’s proximity to SFO was convenient. We were told the shuttle would pick us up at 10 minutes before our flight, but the front‑desk lady never mentioned it and the shuttle left without anyone letting us know it was already outside; she was on her phone, so we had to call an Uber. Apart from that, everything else was fine—just a bit more vigilance needed from the front‑desk staff. Thanks.

The staff were very kind and helpful, the breakfast was very good, and the room was clean and cozy—all good.

“Fine hotel as long as your room isn't on the street side.”

The airport shuttle was great and breakfast was ready early enough for us to catch it, but we stayed in a first‑floor street‑side room that was EXTREMELY noisy from traffic; it only quieted around 11 pm. I’d advise against a street‑side room and wish they’d warned us beforehand.

The staff greeted us warmly and even held our luggage when we arrived early, which was helpful. The room itself was basic and a touch worn, but clean and had all the essentials. We liked that it was a short walk to a Safeway and Trader Joe’s. The free airport shuttle only ran during a few hours each day and wasn’t available when our flight landed; because it’s shared with other hotels, each time slot had a maximum capacity from Hotel 1550, so I expected better given the hotel’s marketing. Breakfast was underwhelming in both variety and quality, and the toiletry dispensers were hard to use.
