“Strategically located and well run”

Everything works in this well‑run guesthouse: the air‑con, hot shower, fridge, locks, and the comfy bed. The family running the place has UK connections and also operates a beach restaurant across the road, with sunbeds included. The beach stretch is quieter but still close to many points of interest, including the railway station, laundrette, a lagoon for kayak safaris, and a historic temple. It’s not a dealbreaker, but having hand soap in the bathroom and a tea/coffee making facility would be nice.

The staff are a very nice, loving family; the room is very clean with a bathroom that has a great view. The place is excellent, right next to several fantastic restaurants on the beach. Everything is wonderful for clearing your mind and relaxing.

“Beautiful location, just across the road from an idyllic beach”

Everything I wanted was there. The room was spotless and tastefully furnished, and I felt very welcome. Breakfast was excellent: cooked breakfast, toast, marmalade, freshly squeezed juice, and unlimited tea or coffee. Douglas and Sherani made me feel very welcome and were ready to help with anything. I’ll definitely come back later in the year and recommend this accommodation to friends traveling to Sri Lanka. I couldn’t fault the accommodation or the owners. Highly recommend.

“I really felt part of the family the hospitality is priceless”

Douglas and Shirani took care of me exceptionally well, and the food was fantastic. The location is great—right on the best part of the beach—and the area feels like a real village. Nightlife in Hikkaduwa is just a 500rps Tuk Tuk ride away. I’ll definitely come back after exploring more of this beautiful island, probably in a month.
