The award-winning restaurant and wine lounge overlooks a lake, offering a wide over-water terrace. Surrounded by countryside and parkland, the lodge boasts tennis courts, a large freeform pool, and a walk trail. Centrally located near Margaret River, Dunsborough, and Yallingup, with free Wi-Fi.

The food was very good, and we liked the lounge room where we could gather with friends for a card game and drinks. Coffee was not hot enough and not very tasty, and the bed was old and not comfortable.

The location was beautiful and well run, but while the meals were amazing, it would have been nice to have one plain option.

Cape Lodge offers a polished luxury stay in the heart of the Margaret River region, with a setting clearly aiming for the relaxed, refined atmosphere of places like Lake House Daylesford — although it doesn’t quite reach that same level of warmth and immersion. The property itself is beautiful, with large, comfortable rooms and peaceful surrounds away from the busier Margaret River township. One of the highlights was the welcoming high tea on arrival, which felt thoughtful and well executed. The restaurant experience was also very enjoyable, with pleasant, friendly staff who genuinely added to the overall stay. A couple of additions could elevate the guest experience further, particularly a daily complimentary Pilates or yoga session, which would suit the wellness-luxury positioning perfectly. A more thoughtfully equipped fitness room would also make a noticeable difference for guests staying multiple nights

I upgraded to a better room and the staff were friendly and helpful, and I could buy local products. I missed the wine and canapés because I got lost with two different mapping systems—always type the address, not the name of the place.
