The bed area was well-equipped with a mini fan, bedside lamp, and earplugs, and the owner struck up a pleasant conversation, even asking about the tools and drinks I brought. I appreciated the chat and the presence of a locker for valuables, which made me feel secure. For someone used to capsule or business hotels, the comfort level was high. The only downside was that the room was separated only by a curtain, and the 10 pm curfew felt a bit tight; after leaving the Kurobe Dam at 9:30 am and returning around 9:30 pm, the timing was close. The shared shower room required a queue, and the public bath was a little far. The common area closed at 10 pm, so if you bring drinks or cards, you’ll need to finish early. Otherwise, there were no major complaints.

The host was very friendly, and the guest house stayed impeccably clean throughout my stay, with a comfortable room and futon. The host offered great suggestions for exploring and even handed out several free tram tickets—thanks again! The location was somewhat on the seaside side, so most attractions were farther away, but a 20‑minute tram ride was manageable. I didn’t encounter any English speakers, which is typical when visiting less touristy parts of Japan.

The breakfast area is very comfortable and spacious. The place is beautiful, the bathrooms are clean and well-maintained, and everything is very quiet. It’s not in the city center, but the neighborhood is lovely and a few blocks away from a transport stop that takes you to the main train station. The room wasn’t insulated from outside noise.
