The setting is beautiful, the bedroom and bathroom are spacious, the staff friendly, the food nice, and I loved the mackerel pâté; it’s a long winding drive from Keswick on a narrow road, but that makes it a lovely quiet location.

The location is fantastic for views and accessing the fells, breakfast was delicious with a great range of options, and the bar is busy again now that the campsite has reopened, adding to the atmosphere; no complaints.

The staff were great, the room comfortable, and the breakfast excellent; the drying room was a godsend, though the residents lounge was a downside.
