The host was super friendly and the place was spotless, which made the stay feel welcoming. The breakfast left something to be desired – no milk and they used margarine instead of butter. Also, we were surprised to find we had to pay the tourist tax for our one‑year‑old and five‑year‑old kids; we weren’t told there was an online guest card option.

The apartment was big and comfortable, and Henk, the host, was outstanding – helpful, kind, and genuinely sweet.

The owner was incredibly friendly, helpful, and polite – we really appreciated that. He even grilled ribs for us on the spot, even though we hadn’t ordered them, so we felt well taken care of. The place is more of a rustic cabin than a hotel; the rooms are a bit cramped and the bunk beds aren’t the most comfortable, but overall it was fine.

“Goed”

The bike storage, balcony, and nice bathroom were great, and the breakfast was thoughtfully arranged in a basket right at the door. The location is good, but the room itself was a bit dark.

The spot is peaceful, right on the edge of Mallnitz, and Henk is a very kind, warm host. If you want breakfast, it’s lovingly set out in a basket by the door, or you can dine in the adjacent rustic forest lodge in the evenings. We felt completely comfortable, and the new bathroom is lovely. The only downside was the limited storage space for luggage.
