Holiday Inn Express & Suites Bucyrus by IHG

The place is clean, comfy, and nice; the staff are accommodating and friendly. The breakfast area is currently under construction, which is understandable, and I’m looking forward to seeing the new space next time we’re in town. 😊

“Would not recommend or stay there again.”

The location was exactly where we needed it, and the bed was okay. However, the hotel feels run down with few amenities, poor value, and ongoing construction.

Holiday Inn Express in Bucyrus was clean, the staff were polite and respectful, the breakfast was great, and I’d definitely stay again.

“Be prepared to sleep in your clothes in case of fire alarm.”

The hotel was overall clean, and it’s one of only two in Bucyrus. At 10:45 pm a fire alarm went off, we jumped out of bed in our pajamas and went outside into the cold; firefighters had to come and shut it down. The street was full of elderly people and mothers with babies. At 11:30 pm the alarm rang again, we headed out once more, and firefighters arrived again; one mentioned they’d been there three times that day and almost daily. In the bathroom we saw a sign saying, “If you leave the door open while showering the steam could trigger the alarm.” It was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had; sleep was shallow and restless, and we kept our clothes on in case the alarm rang again.
