The home was charming, full of detail and personality. I would suggest adding a light continental breakfast or pastries, as there was nothing available in town, something most boarding homes provide.

Sweet Dory welcomed us with care and friendliness. The house is well kept. They don’t serve breakfast, which is reasonable for the price and helps the rest of Potter with business. Everyone in town knows Dory.

We weren’t expecting breakfast, perhaps I misread the description. Still, there was homemade banana bread and a variety of hot beverage options for us. The décor was charming with fun details. Our hostess was very friendly. I’d stay again because it felt like meeting an old friend. I would have liked more information about the railroad workers, why they needed a place there, to highlight the house’s history.

We stayed at Dori's during the Panhandle Frontier Finds weekend. The location was ideal. Dori’s place is full of charm, history and soul. She’s a great hostess and even offered us freshly baked strawberry‑rhubarb pie. If you enjoy old houses, eclectic décor and authenticity, this place is highly recommended. We chose breakfast at the Sundry, which was genuine old‑school home cooking with farm‑fresh eggs and thick sliced bacon. No complaints. As some reviews note, you share a space with others, so manage bathroom expectations accordingly. That makes Dori’s feel like a traditional B&B or hostel, which is reflected in the price. We had zero problems. If you need to stay in Western Nebraska for a night or two, Dori’s is great value.
