The staff were the nicest people I’ve met; I had a fantastic night and will definitely return. The communal bathroom isn’t perfect, but I love the people—thanks, Carl. The down‑to‑earth vibe made me feel like a local right away—thanks again, Carl.

The pub was lovely and friendly, with great banter, and they supplied plenty of water bottles during the heat wave. There’s a good car park behind the building, the room was clean and tidy with a comfy bed, and the location is perfect—just a five‑minute walk to the town centre—ideal for a solo traveller. The only downside was that a fan in the room would have been helpful with the current weather.

The hotel sits right next to the racecourse and the shops, so everything is within arm's reach, and the staff were friendly.
