Monaco Chicama Beach

The location was good. The rooms were not clean.

The hotel’s location is great, right in front of Chicama peak, rooms are well equipped and there’s space to store a board and dry neoprene clothing. However, at the price charged (the second most expensive spot in Chicama) many basic aspects were lacking. First, we chose Mônaco because it had a restaurant inside the hotel, making things easier, but we could only use it for one lunch because it was never open. Second, there was no electricity in the village (common there) and the hotel didn’t have a generator to cover that need; we were without power for over 12 hours, unacceptable for the room rate. Third, the bathroom water was extremely weak and the sink didn’t drain. Fourth, the door lock was terrible to open and close, and we spent about 3 minutes just trying to fit the key into the lock.

The place was very pretty and the care felt like family, the staff were very friendly. I liked everything.
