The location is great, with a side door that leads directly to the old town. The room and staff are excellent.

The rooms were very spacious, clean, quiet. Staff were amazing and very helpful. Nancy from front desk was exceptional, she noticed that our child was having his birthday during our stay and organised a small cake. It really made our day! Nancy was also very thoughtful about our room configuration as we had a big family. Andy also helped us organise a tour and went above and beyond to make it happen! Unbelievable staff! The resort was immaculate! Breakfast was so good! Location was super close to old town

“It was fantasic staying in luxury next to the Lijiang Ancient City and receiving phenomenal service.”

I was especially taken with the staff’s professionalism and willingness to help. Julie at reception not only secured my preferred room but stayed late to assist me personally; I asked for an English speaker and she volunteered to help after her shift. I’d lost my debit card, likely left in an ATM in Kunming, so she called ICBC, obtained the bank’s contact, and the next day confirmed the card’s location and the bank’s hours so I could retrieve it. She also advised on snacks for my Tiger Leaping Gorge trek. Deft from concierge arranged a private taxi for the whole day, driving me from the Intercontinental Hotel in Lijiang to the trailhead, then to Tina’s Guesthouse, and finally back to my hotel in Shangri‑La. He set up a WeChat group with the driver, the creek, and me to coordinate pickup and drop‑off times. The driver was experienced, spoke enough English, and Deft met me the next morning to ensure a smooth transfer. The service was outstanding.
