“Cercate altrove”
Unfortunately we ran into several issues: we had booked two double rooms, but only one had air conditioning because of my mistake. The owner offered the second air‑conditioned room at a crazy price for a guest house—15 € a day—while the difference between an air‑conditioned and non‑air‑conditioned room was only 2.5 € a day. Additionally, one room’s bathroom was infested with thousands of ants, and a piece of ceiling fell off during the night. The owner explained that the ants were harmless and the ceiling fell because they were doing work, yet there was no sign of any work. Breakfast was great, but unlike other guest houses, there was no fruit smoothie or even a glass of water. The rooms had large windows but no blackout curtains, so at 6 am sunlight streamed in like daylight. We stayed 14 days in Sri Lanka, but this guest house had the worst value for money; we felt like tourists being ripped off.
