“Eine sehr schöne Unterkunft, sehr nah an altem Kern von Xanthi und doch sehr ruhig”
A very nice place, very close to the old centre of Xanthi and yet very quiet; the communication with the owners was very pleasant!
“Mitten in Xanthi”
Terrace, central location, still quiet, clean.
“Kings basement”
The very central location in Xanthi’s old town is on a quiet street, free from music and crowds. The historical building has its own small garden, and checking in and out is easy. It feels more like an Airbnb than a hotel, so don’t expect a cleaning service. We asked to change the towels once they left a new set for us, but the dirty ones were still in the room. The “kings suite” is actually a tiny micro room in the basement, with humidity and a small bed. When you hear “kings suite,” you expect at least a king‑size bed, but the room feels much smaller than the pictures show. Air conditioning existed, but it blew directly on our faces at night, so we couldn’t use it. On the last day the water supply was cut; it’s obviously not the hotel’s fault, but they could have informed us. Internet wasn’t fast enough even for Instagram reels. Overall, 228 EUR for three nights without breakfast and cleaning isn’t the best value, especially when staying in the basement without daylight. You will be asked at the end of your stay to leave the property in the same condition as it was on arrival, so probably we should have used the cleaning service for the next guests. Overall impression is “ok, but not coming back.”
“So-so”
The room is definitely very clean, and the location is great. You're in the old town within a 3‑4 minute walk. However, there is no hair dryer, which was definitely a problem for me. Moreover, from the photos I saw the upper entrance of the apartment. I wrote to their WhatsApp line, but even though a week has passed since my holiday, there's still no reply. Very strange! The neighbours around there told me that there is also an entrance from below. Otherwise, I was starting to think the outer door code they gave me was wrong.
The accommodation was spotless, fully equipped, and well maintained. It sits in a great spot in the heart of the old town, perfect for a few relaxing days. The hosts were especially helpful; when I asked for an early check‑in because of my very early flight, they responded immediately with politeness and willingness.
