“Worth a stay”

A great place to stay just a few minutes’ walk from the train station and town, but the booking process could have been smoother because I had to wait for someone arriving to let me in and to get the room ready; overall it was very good. There was no road noise during my night shift.

“Dodgy deposit thieves”

They asked for a deposit that wasn’t mentioned beforehand and wouldn’t accept card payment, so I had to find a cashpoint after 10 p.m. in an unfamiliar area. The next morning they refused to return my £20 deposit because my friend, who had lent me a lift, overstayed by a few minutes and, when she came to pick me up, blew her nose and, since there was no bin in the room, she threw the tissue in the bathroom—an act deemed as using the facilities and enough to withhold my deposit.

“Would not recommend”

There is no private bathroom—there’s a communal one, and you have to walk through two rooms where other people are sitting! Advertising a private bathroom is misleading. Also, it claims there’s private parking, but it’s just roadside parking—false advertising. I wouldn’t have booked if I had known there wasn’t a private bathroom.

The place seemed clean at first glance, but I booked a suite and was told it was unavailable because of a leak. They claimed I’d be the only guest in the house, yet during the evening several strangers slipped in. Worse, a hole in the ceiling collapsed, flooding the room. I had to leave because it wasn’t safe, around 1.30 am. I called the landlord and only got a response at 7 am, saying they’d refund me, but I still haven’t received it. Not happy.

“Dissaponted”

Nothing, they are not honest people. And this was not even the room we booked. When we arrived we were shown the accommodation that we had booked it had a water leak and the ceiling had fallen through. But that had not been communicated to us. Just in case we wanted a refund, and they never inquired if we wanted to book somewhere else. 2. We were told that alternative accommodation had been booked for us in another house. 3. The room smelled of cigarette smoke, as if the last occupant smoked in the room, but we did not make a fuss about it. 4. The next morning, the heating and hot water was not working. We called to ask, and someone was sent to check who was very rude and insisting that the room was warm when it was freezing. 5. When you flushed the toilet or used the shower ther was a very loud noise. This apparently became an urgent problem the day before we were supposed to cjeck out. And someone wanted ro access our room. The person was also very rude, telling us that we had passed our checkout time, and yet we were checking out the following day. We work nights and had expressed that we did not want to be disturbed, but we kept on getting knocks on our door
