“Glamping! Abgeschiedenheit mit Annehmlichkeiten”
The lodge sat right between the Panorama Route and Kruger National Park, and the tents blended nicely into nature with a nice view of the mountain mass. Guests in tent 1 were especially happy because they also had a view over the valley. Even though they’re tents, they have all the comforts of a normal hotel room. The room service even handled closing the tent windows during meals, set the bed, and prepared the mosquito net for the night. We booked half‑board and found the meals solid and good. The dinner menu was discussed with us upon arrival. We had booked a morning mountain‑bike tour that starts directly at the parking lot, so we had to drive the 20‑minute round‑trip to the lodge twice to enjoy a relaxed breakfast afterward. Only one other couple stayed with us, so the stay felt very lonely. The breakfast buffet plates were pre‑packed and covered with cling film, and we had to unpack them ourselves. Fresh items like cheese, sausage, and yogurt were not refrigerated. The loneliness was not helped by a ruined, burned tent. We had a very stormy night, so our sleep was a bit restless.
