“Avoid at all costs - ruined honeymoon!!!”
The building looks pretty and the pools are nice, but that’s about it. The meals were absolutely awful—so bland, never hot, and the same for lunch and dinner every day. I suspect food poisoning during the last two days of my honeymoon. The hygiene was so poor that I think the hotel should be inspected or shut down. We found cockroaches in our room, and dead insects stayed from day two until checkout even though the room was “cleaned” daily. An ant infestation surrounded the wardrobe and even appeared in our kettle, preventing us from boiling water. The manager knew but didn’t give us a new kettle. The glasses at the buffet and pool were filthy, so guests brought their own reusable cups. The sunbeds were worn, some with bird droppings, and the pillows on the daybeds were dirty. Some staff were great, but others were rude and abrupt, especially at breakfast. There were no self‑serve drink options, so we had to wait for service that never came. My husband had to chase someone down for coffee each morning, and we felt like a nuisance, while other guests seemed to get served automatically—clearly a tipping culture. We’d already paid £500 a night, so we didn’t tip. The pool bar was filthy, with flies and wasps landing on pre‑made cocktail jugs that staff poured into plastic cups; we doubt the drinks contained alcohol, and other guests said the same. Honestly, I’d rate the hotel’s look 5*, service 3, and food and hygiene 1.
