The hotel is a long walk from the station, which we enjoyed because we like walking, but it can be tiring after a long day for those who don’t want to walk that far. The single train line to Shinjuku is convenient for commuters like us. We stayed 10 days and 9 nights and found the amenities limited: towels were enough for one day, but we also needed cotton buds, toothpaste, a spoon and fork, coffee or tea, a mug, and a flat iron—none were provided, and these small omissions really impacted our experience.

“Tanpopo inn”

We liked the balcony, but the towels were definitely insufficient for the number of days we stayed. When we first arrived, we were stuck at the door. The form sent to us was in Chinese (not Japanese or English), and Google didn’t translate it fully into our language, which prolonged the process. We were exhausted and had to wait at the door where there were a lot of flies that bit us. Overall the place was clean. It operates more like an Airbnb than a hotel, so there is no face‑to‑face interaction with staff. The neighborhood is quiet, and there was nothing else.

“Peaceful neighbourhood area, but still, easy to commute to center of Tokyo.”

The utilities are great, and staying here feels like living in your own home in Japan. The peaceful neighbourhood adds to the experience.

The quiet, cleanliness, good price, and having a few hangers delivered on request were positives, but the main room felt a bit too tight, the bed was too narrow for two European adults, there were no storage spaces or bedside tables, the tap leaked onto the stove plates risking electrical danger, and there was no full‑length mirror that could be hung on a door.
