“Ze doen wel hun best”
The location is nice, but getting there can be a challenge because it’s in the mountains and some sections climb 12% via off‑road paths and very narrow roads—you have to avoid anyone. The bathroom smelled awful, like sewer. The guys said it came from the septic tank (which hadn’t been emptied for a long time), but we think the odor was coming from the drainage; it’s really not in good shape. The scent was so penetrating it made us nauseous. They claimed that when we were doing something else they flushed the drainage and there was a blockage. Either way, after we showered and flushed the toilet the smell persisted. We even felt that over time our bedding might have taken on the smell, making it dirty. On the bright side, at the end we were allowed to check out two toasts for €10, which they offered as a kind of compensation, but after three nights of bad odor it was still a disappointment.
