The accommodation was clean, but the experience turned out to be extremely negative, mainly because of how the owner handled things. The place itself was acceptable, yet our stay was completely ruined by the attitude towards us. We were accused of smoking in the apartment and even of throwing cigarette butts from our balcony onto the neighbors’ balcony. Unfortunately, none of the three butts were found, and when we checked the layout of the apartments, the balcony where the butts supposedly were found didn’t even match the one directly below our window. We were therefore accused of a behavior we didn’t commit, and the accusation had obvious inconsistencies. The next morning we were verbally attacked by the neighbors, who insulted us and threatened to call the police. We would have expected the owner to try to clarify the situation with us before assuming we were at fault. The situation worsened the following day. After a brief incident where we screamed because we were frightened, the owner immediately contacted us with a strongly accusatory tone and mentioned the possibility of calling the police. When we tried to explain the situation, he practically prevented us from speaking and told us, literally, that we were “at his house” and that he didn’t want to hear our “bullshit”. We believe that demanding respect from guests is absolutely legitimate, but demanding it while speaking to guests in this manner is at least contradictory. On top of that, the location of the accommodation is in an area where we were repeatedly disturbed during our evening returns and we never felt at all relaxed.
