Da Dani was wonderful with the tour suggestions and organization, the tuk‑tuk driver was very helpful and attentive throughout the Angkor temple complex, and we could dine at the lodge itself with a nice meal she ordered. The bathroom had no support for items, no hooks for bath or face towels, no water pressure in the sink or shower (water dripped and didn’t heat up), no shower curtain leaving the bathroom flooded after a shower, and there was no rug or mat to dry anything.

The staff were available and the place was quiet. We had booked three nights, but upon arrival we were told that the first two nights would be in one of the two facilities and that the third night would require a move because of some electrical work…the electrical work turned out to be a party organized for someone. We would have preferred to know the real reason instead of being taken by surprise…and as soon as we switched rooms we found a woman on the terrace of the passing room.

The staff were friendly, the pool could be used late at night, and the interior design is nice; the location is good for Angkor Wat, about a 15‑minute drive. Unfortunately there was no hot water for showers, only lukewarm.

The room was decent, which seems to be the only positive. The overall services were poor. The housekeeper came to pick us up at the airport (at the same price as taxis: TB, though she was a bit late, which can happen). But once we arrived at the accommodation, the service deteriorated to a bare minimum: the first sentence was “remove your shoes and come pay.” Four nights there and no towel changes, no trash emptied from the room, shower water barely warm. The breakfast was minimal (see photo). They never asked if everything was okay or if we needed anything; the only words were “hello.” Perhaps this was because we didn’t take any of her suggested excursions? In addition, at the end of the four nights we asked for a “late check‑out” (3 PM); they told us it would be an extra charge even though there were no other guests in any of the eight other rooms! In conclusion, we have traveled to many countries in Southeast Asia or Africa and this lodging was the last (before returning to Belgium) of our 32‑day trip, and we can say that Rithy Residence is by far the least friendly and the least warm in service. Note: I also read, on other platforms (‑ Google > maps), reviews very similar to mine and that many fake reviews were mentioned for this place (and the other two properties of this owner = Rithy 1 and Rithy Boutique).
