The location is very nice and quiet, the whole area felt incredibly peaceful, and we could leave our luggage there while hiking across Daisetsuzan, which was extremely helpful; I just don’t understand how this place can have such a high rating because the kitchen and bathroom were dirty, the towels smelled bad even though they were new, and the hand towel in the bathroom was especially smelly; what really upset us was two Spanish‑speaking guys associated with the accommodation openly gossiping about other guests right next to us and making remarks about us, which was unprofessional and disrespectful; we understood Spanish, so it felt like they were targeting us, and that experience completely ruined my impression of the place.

The beds are comfortable (not exactly futons, which is appreciated), the area is very quiet and a pleasant neighborhood, and there are 4 parking spots in the front garden; however, some amenities were missing, especially in the kitchen, and the shared bathroom has little privacy in the shower because it’s only separated by a curtain.
