Lisbon Surf Hostel

The volunteers made this stay unforgettable… I only came for a few days but ended up volunteering for a month because I connected so well with this family. The place, the breakfast, and the facilities all created a beautiful memory.

The location is great. I was assigned a bottom bunk in a shared room on the ground floor, and it was unfortunately very close to the lounge where volunteers would watch TV late into the night, causing a lot of noise—especially from one male American volunteer who doesn’t seem to know how to keep his volume down.

The staff were super friendly! The only drawback was the mosquitoes. Because the rooms were warm, there were plenty of them at night.

The location and the people were good. The facilities were completely broken—the showers were dirty and the toilet seats were defective, so we were practically crawling every day. I’ve stayed in many hostels, and this was the dirtiest ever. We were with about 30 unruly school kids. You should mention that beforehand.
