“Blij dat we we gingen.”
Only the bed and the shower were positive. Our three‑night stay at this hotel turned out to be a major disappointment. It turned out to be a lifeless hotel. The photos looked nice and promising, but the atmosphere and service were subpar. It’s basically a shabby B&B where you’d rather stay just one night. The bed and shower were fine and the room was decent. There was a large wardrobe, but with only five hangers it wasn’t very useful. The linen closet was full of blankets and pillows. You can’t hang a wet coat anywhere. The breakfast was really sparse—old bread and croissants, cake and pie that were replenished daily but were stale and dry. There was fruit‑lemonade and tea. Cappuccino was available but had to be paid for at checkout for €2.50, which wasn’t mentioned beforehand. Fresh oranges were there. There was a press but it wasn’t used (maybe if you ask). Butter was only given if you asked and came out barely spreadable straight from the fridge. A fried egg or scrambled eggs were possible but only if you asked an older lady who barely speaks English. They’ve never heard of “service is my middle name.” There are no elevators in the hotel, but fortunately the hotel only has two floors. The two stairs after the second floor were very steep and narrow, and you’re not helped with your luggage. When you’re struggling with your bags, they act like they don’t see you. Again: what a disappointment!
