“Un oasis de calma frente al lago Qarun”

We loved the Fayoum Resort! It sits right across from Lake Birket Qarun, giving breathtaking views of water and desert—pure calm and beautiful sunsets. The room felt like a separate cabin, very spacious, with a king‑size bed, a comfy lounge, and a large bathroom that had both a shower and a tub. You can also order breakfast to the room, which is a great plus for enjoying the peaceful surroundings. The meals and dinner were very good, with well‑prepared traditional dishes. The resort has a large pool, but we couldn’t use it because it was cold during our stay. The facilities are very new and well maintained. The staff were exceptionally attentive, kind, and helpful at every moment. It’s a perfect base for exploring the area, with 4x4 desert tours and must‑see spots like Wadi El‑Hitan (Whale Valley, UNESCO), Wadi El Rayan, and the Petrified Forest of Gabal Qatrani. For archaeology lovers, Karanis, the Kom Aushim Museum, and the Hawara Pyramid are nearby, and don’t miss the charming town of Tunis, which is close by. We highly recommend staying at Fayoum Resort if you’re looking for tranquility, excellent service, great views, and a prime location to discover Fayoum.

The resort is more than wonderful and sits on Lake Qarun; the rooms are cottages or cabins with limited numbers, giving a nice sense of privacy. Each cabin has all the necessities, spacious rooms, a large bathroom, cleanliness, and good‑speed internet. The breakfast at the restaurant is amazing and the staff cooperate wonderfully, making the resort overall fantastic. A drawback I’m not sure if it’s ongoing is the water flow in the room bathroom—sometimes it’s slow and comes back, not a huge flaw, but it does affect the resort’s appeal for some travelers. The location is at the far end of Lake Qarun, about 40 km, and it takes roughly an hour to cross the lake and reach Fayoum city and its governorates. On the plus side, it’s a quiet spot away from noise pollution, offering a peaceful atmosphere. A key note for anyone visiting this or nearby hotels: you’ll need private transportation, whether a personal car or a driver, because the area has almost no taxis or delivery cars.
