Het Heertje, a charming adults‑only guest house in Den Hoorn, occupies a historic building with tiled and parquet floors. Each room offers a private bathroom, walk‑in shower, free toiletries, tea and coffee maker, and a balcony overlooking the garden. Located 8 km from Texel’s dunes and Ecomare, it provides quiet, convenient access to local attractions and Schiphol Airport.

Finding a small house for two people plus a dog on Texel island is rare—what a win. The cute village lets you walk, bike, or drive to the larger town or the beaches, another win. The landlords were very hospitable and we enjoyed chatting with them, yet another win.

The location, atmosphere, cleanliness, and supplies (coffee, tea, a tidy fridge, even an egg cooker) were lovely, and the bed and shower (soap and shampoo provided) were good. Seating and a TV were also available. No negatives.

We enjoyed the cottage, and the dog was also welcomed. The cozy home was clean, and little extras like coffee, tea, eggs, and dog items completed the experience. The location in Den Hoorn was nice, and sitting right outside the cottage was delightful.

The location is great. The small village of Den Hoorn feels cozy, with a supermarket and places to eat just a few meters away. Parking is almost at the door, the walking area De Dennen and the beach promenade Paal 9 are a few minutes away, as is Den Burg. The warm welcome, clean house, and pre‑made beds with towels and tea towels (not always given nowadays) and the dog‑friendly policy were all very pleasant. We found nothing to complain about. The house is not large (especially the downstairs living room/kitchen) and you can’t cook there, but we had accounted for that when booking and it was fine for two people and a Cocker Spaniel. We also spent a lot of time enjoying Texel.
