The staff were friendly and helpful, fixing the small issues quickly, and Anna kept everything exceptionally clean, a detail we really appreciated. Wi‑Fi worked well, and Netflix plus other media options were a definite bonus. The house offers several pleasant outdoor spots—three different areas to sit and relax. At first glance, the house and garden made a very good impression, and overall our stay was positive despite some shortcomings. On closer inspection, the property urgently needs maintenance: broken tiles above the steps and sharp, damaged tiles in the bar area forced us to warn the children to stay away. The kitchen could be better equipped; there were not enough plates and cutlery, and some pots and pans were old and badly bent, so guests who plan to cook often should bring their own equipment. The refrigerator was an old commercial‑style café fridge with sliding doors that kept everything cold but was extremely noisy. The upstairs room raised concerns: daylight leaked through gaps in the roof, and we were lucky it didn’t rain heavily, as we wondered how well the roof would keep water out. Rooms spread across three levels may be a consideration for families with young children or guests with limited mobility. Despite these maintenance issues, we still had an enjoyable stay, and with proper repairs and some kitchen investment, the property could be considerably better.

The game and game drives were lovely, and Nicholas went above and beyond to make them an incredible experience. We saw many animals—buffalo, rhino, hippo, crocodile, sable, and various antelope. At Hornbill we enjoyed the nyala, warthog, impala, bushbaby, hornbills, hammerhead, grey loerie, oxpecker, and many more in the garden. The facilities are great; the kitchen has all the necessary utensils, and the various dining areas are wonderful.

Wonderful accommodation! The staff and owner were incredibly helpful and friendly, offering very good value for money. We’ll definitely book again the next time we visit South Africa, and I’ve already recommended it to three of my South African friends.

Amazing hospitality from all staff, and contact from the manager was excellent. The location is the most serene and tranquil, with loads to do around the park and close proximity. Nothing, everything was perfect :)
