“Lochnagar Guest House”
The guest house sits close to the city centre and Union Square, making it convenient for evening outings and catching buses or trains. Despite the proximity to the city centre, there wasn’t much outside noise during my stay. I met one staff member who showed me to my room at check‑in, and she was very pleasant and helpful. I did find the noise coming from inside the property a little annoying at times. You can hear the extractor fans in the bathrooms every time someone turns the light on, and conversations in other rooms or corridors are easily heard. Because my room was near the small communal kitchen area, I was sometimes disturbed by people making drinks or preparing food; the microwave being used at 10 pm one night is a prime example. I understand this is not the fault of the property owner.
The room was lovely and the shared kitchen facilities worked well; the area was quiet and parking was available. The bathroom had a step that caught us off guard a few times while we were inside.
“Enjoyable”
There was no breakfast, but the guest house itself was very nice.
“Centraal gelegen traditioneel pand.”
The location is central and the room is tidy. The shower didn’t work.
“Enjoyable, relaxing and felt at home.”
The venue is in the city centre, a 5‑minute walk to train and bus stations, and you can walk anywhere to attractions in Aberdeen within walking distance. The room was clean and comfortable, and I slept really well. There’s a small kitchen on the first floor where you can make hot drinks, and a fridge in the room is a bonus. It’s suitable for solo travellers too.
